Cheryl had to say...

Love reading, and have done so since I taught myself how at age 4--currently I read mostly mystery/thrillers, historical mysteries and historical fiction and fantasy. But I'll read almost anything except romances and self-help books. I've been an RN for 25 years (eeek!), am married for the second time to a British import (we just celebrated our 10th anniversary on Sept. 2) and I have three kids (ages 23, 21 and 16) from my first marriage. I'm a tree-hugging Pagan, and aside from reading, other hobbies are making handmade soaps, playing World of Warcraft and messing around in the kitchen--I'm a spice and herb fanatic and love trying out new flavors! I had gastric bypass surgery in November of 2006...best thing I ever did for myself! I'm down about 130 lbs and have my health back--no more diabetes or blood pressure medicines! Anyone interested in my journey can check out my photos on flickr.com here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/spuddie

Oh yeah, and I love my dancing banana--and/or broccoli...and even my chili! LOL

UNPOSTABLE BOOK DEALS...these books are free with another order from my bookshelf...they are not re-postable by PBS standards, but are very readable. 1 book order = one freebie.

Grass For His Pillow by Lian Hearn, trade paperback, ISBN 1594480036 has a few wavy pages at the bottom middle section of the book.

Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison, Mass Mkt Paperback, ISBN 006057296-3 has some wavy pages and minor water damage, no staining, very readable.

A Finer End by Deborah Crombie, Mass Mkt Paperback, ISBN 0553579274 has minor water damage/wavy pages.

The Case Has Altered by Martha Grimes, Mass Mkt Paperback, ISBN 0451408683 upper right corner of cover and first few pages looks like it's been gnawed on by a small animal. Very readable, though!

I also have an ARC (advanced reader copy--not postable via PBS or eligible for resale) of the following books, each one free with another order from my bookshelf:

Takedown by Lisa Black

The Whiskey Rebels by David Liss

This Gaming Life by Jim Rossignol

Fault Lines by Nancy Huston

Please PM me before ordering a book from my shelf and let me know you want one of the freebies to be sure it's still available, then I'll pm you back to let you know you "won" the freebie (it's first come, first served) and can select a book from my shelf. Otherwise it may need to lead to cancelling orders if more than one person tries for the same deal at the same time. Thanks!

Cheryl:

I purchased The Cold Dish after reading the review on your blog. I hope to get to it sometime in January.

Have you read any of Margaret Coel's Wind River mysteries? They are set on an Arapaho reservation in Wyoming. (I actually worked in one of the neighboring "white towns" for 18 months and know the area well.) I love her books!
